In
the customer supplied materials scenario, Haller Industries
relies on the customer to provide materials purchasing for the
product and verify that they meet their specifications. Unless
requested by the customer, Haller does not do any quality
inspection of materials and does not verify correct part numbers
and counts prior to stocking.
This
type of system is generally utilized when the customer has their
own purchasing, and materials management departments. The
components are ordered and delivered to the customer site, where
they are counted and inspected then divided into a neat package
called a "kit". The kit contains all the components
individually labeled and packaged for the quantity of the build.
Haller then assembles the product against the
"kit".
